Syria Country Director and Senior Technical Expert

Clara possesses a unique background that blends program management with research expertise. With over a decade of experience in diverse contexts, she has managed large-scale country programs, UN multi-agency projects, and multi-country projects for organizations like the United Nations and international NGOs. Her work has spanned various countries, including Syria, Egypt, Indonesia, Liberia, Italy, Jordan, and Uganda.


Clara holds a Master of Arts in Human Rights from the University of Essex and a postgraduate diploma in Public Health, underscoring her commitment to access to healthcare, including mental health, for vulnerable populations. Her research experience encompasses quality and human rights assessments of mental health programs and health and social services for people with disabilities.


Currently, Clara serves as a Country Director for i-APS in Syria, where she also acts as a focal point for all capacity building, training, third party monitoring and evaluation activities. Her responsibilities include country management and technical areas such as public health, gender, and food security initiatives, with a particular focus on vulnerable groups. Her extensive experience provides her with valuable insights into the challenges these populations face, and the strategies needed to address them effectively. Clara is managing number of projects and contracts including long term agreements including UNDP, UNFPA and FAO in Syria.
